WASHINGTON — Post Offices nationwide will be closed on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019 and New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020. All Post Offices will be open after the holidays, and regular mail delivery will resume Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

It’s really his postal helpers, our mail carriers, hitting the street before the break of dawn to get everyone’s packages delivered with great speed.

SAN FRANCISCO — People are familiar with the legacy program where in years past they could come to the Post Office at 1300 Evans Street in San Francisco and search through letters in-person. And as recent as yesterday the legacy program was about to kick off; however, because digital allows Santa to go through many more letters, with the help of the Post Office, people no longer need to trek down to the Post Office to go through the letters in-person.

SAN JOSE, CA — To ease the hustle and bustle of getting your holiday shipments in the mail and on their way, select South Bay Post Offices in the Bay-Valley postal district will be open for full retail services on three December Saturdays – 7th , 14th and 21st 2019. With the busiest week projected to be December 16-22, the extra hours help customers dashing to the Post Office to get their shipments in the mail.

With this semipostal stamp, the U.S. Postal Service will raise funds to help treat those impacted by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The stamp features a photo illustration of a green plant sprouting from the ground, which is covered in fallen leaves. The image is intended to symbolize the PTSD healing process, growth and hope. Art director Greg Breeding designed the stamp with original art by Mark Laita.
